About the Role

Reporting to the Manager Exploration, this role leads the planning, coordination and safe execution of Westgold’s exploration programs. You will drive target generation, oversee drilling programs, mentor a high‑performing geology team and contribute significantly to Westgold’s long‑term exploration strategy.

As Senior Exploration Geologist, you will shape the quality of our target pipeline and lead activities that directly influence future resource growth.



Key Responsibilities

• Lead, guide and develop exploration geologists and field staff.
• Uphold statutory responsibilities as an appointed WHS Mines Regulations Schedule 26 Supervisor.
• Oversee safe, efficient execution of drilling and field programs.
• Generate, evaluate and test high‑quality exploration targets across Westgold’s extensive landholding.
• Ensure heritage, environmental and regulatory compliance across all activities.
• Maintain rigorous QA/QC and data integrity standards, ensuring timely loading and validation of geological data.
• Manage exploration budgets, approvals and contractor performance.
• Produce geological interpretations, maps, sections and monthly/technical reports.

What You’ll Bring

• 10+ years in Archean gold exploration, including generative and regional experience.
• Strong geological interpretation and target‑generation capability.
• Proficiency in QGIS/MapInfo and 3D modelling software (Leapfrog/Micromine).
• Solid understanding of WA mining legislation, WHS requirements and JORC guidelines.
• Demonstrated leadership ability and a track record of developing high‑performing teams.
• Strong planning, problem‑solving and decision‑making ability.
• Bachelor’s degree in Geology (postgraduate qualifications highly regarded).
• WA C‑class manual licence; Schedule 26 compliant.
